Aftermath of an election - "A cause for concern in Malaysian cricket".

My article on Saturday 14th February titled : "Hybrid" style of voting in MCA election creates "surprises" tantamounting to a "unity" Committee, had its fair share of comments. In that article i talked about the "floaters", who maneuvered their votes to determine the fate of a number of candidates. The so called "bloc" votes crumpled for certain positions, reflecting the strategy adopted by the "floaters". In the process a "unity" Committee was created. Many disbelieve that this is not by design but sheer coincidence, although i think otherwise.

Since the election various interested parties are doing their post-mortem. All these are unofficial but still many want to know who are the so called strategists and also the "floaters". The aspect of "floaters" in the main has been identified but the issue of strategists is still a questionable matter. People believe that the names "thrown" in and identified seem to give too much of credit for these people's intellect. This is where the aspect of "not by design" hypothesis has come into being.

While the jury is still deciding on that issue, the definite aspect is the "floaters". The belief is that 2 of the new office-bearers seem to be on the suspect list and I honestly believe life for them in cricket may not be easy. The opinion of a "sell out" seems to be the foundation of the prevailing discussions. The argument is that such people have literally been involved in the whole exercise of the "bloc" votes and yet for their own self interest purpose they seem to have ditched the line-up in the eleventh hour. Indeed, some indicate that they enjoyed the food, drinks and even accommodation on other peoples expense and then "dump" them. Is it proper for people to act like that? Where are the moral standards?

Some think that "the battle maybe over but the war is far from finished". If there is any truth to this then I am concerned that cricket at national level may suffer. Development, I am not too worried as there are 2 or 3 parties undertaking it, although in the main and nationwide it seem to be only a single party. It is the level of co-operation and understanding that can be achieved is going to be the key question.

What is going to come to haunt some of the office bearers is their past actions. The negative karmic influence may put them in an awkward positions and make it difficult to discharge their duties. More so if the person holds a key position and requires support. If such things do take place then the difference widens and the problem may be difficult to redeem.

Obviously if the new Committee has the strength and support, such issues are trivial matters. Like most human beings the issue of trust would always linger on with certain parties and that itself would make it a hazardous journey. It is essentially how the rebuilding process i.e "repairing the fences" is undertaken. If it is not addressed and swept under the carpet, a small "spark" may create a burning "inferno". It comes down to the leadership and what they want to do for the next 2 years. If they want to follow the past, I think we can bid farewell to Malaysian cricket now itself.

There is some form of "unity" Committee and how unified the rest can fall in, would determine the combined effort everyone puts in to allow Malaysian cricket to flourish. Can we forgive and forget and move forward? This is in the hands of the people who can make the difference.

The morale of story is, You Can Be Smart, But Dont Ever Think Others Are Stupid. Ok watever happen in election is not a matter for cricket lovers, nobody is eager to know that. Just because of somebody ( kawan ) loose you cannot simply suspect others. Any way this is right team. Its a groupless committee. Each and every one just do their part, thats enough. Any way dont try to create problems from start itself buddy.

Its me.

Well delegates,
Although your vote is secret, the losers are now out on a witch hunt.
How you will be treated in the coming months by these individuals will show if you have been identified as 'floaters' or not. The strategists too will surface.
The exco members were voted in through democratic process. Every post was contested, no one won uncontested. Certain individuals from a certain camp who lost after having high hopes of securing bloc votes are now accusing certain individuals of back stabbing. It all boils down power crazy. They are not sincere in promoting and developing the game.

Dear Ghandi & Readers,

It has been a wonderful election year. To those who won,I hope you will go on and work in unity.. Do it for Malaysian Cricket. There is a whole lot of good you can do and just ignore the losers...they (losers) will be watching you.

But what have they (losers) done when they were in power the last two years? The new committee must watch and get rid of these corrupt official who managed to win and stayed on in this new committee.

Fancy this!. I was informed by a disgruntled company director (Company A) that they (2 MCA officials from 2007-2009 Exco) filled enough cash into their pockets with ill-gotten gains (giving out contracts to their beloved friend when blank quotations came in for a major tournament last year..imagine a senior official of the past administration (2007-2009) had the guts and chick to even fill up the blank quotation and then award the contract to that party).

What a pity to Company Adam (A) & Bravo (B) who sent in their quatations early... Company Charlie (C) got the contract!!. Not only did the quotation came in late from Company C (and blank), the official concerned, instead of throwing it into bin, filled it up and even had the audacity of getting the high ranking official (won again recently) to acknowledge it.

Just how much was the deal??... I scratch your back you scratch my back. DEAL OR NO DEAL.!!

That explains why Mr Anaconda wants so much to be in MCA (his croonies had advised him to stay away from the elections). Only this time he does not have Mr Boa on his side. Mr Boa - most hated man in the circuit - did not stand for elections(made enough money already)...

So guys, do you actually think that those (2)officials from the 2007-2009 Administration deserve the jail!! Its corruption of the highest order.

Hope Company Director Adam has the guts of Mr Anaconda and Mr Boa to knock on the doors of the ACA..

Many would love to see them in handcuffs.BELIEVE ME!!

JASON & FREDDIE KRUGER,

You are just a loser.......

Prove it mate!!!!

Don't sit in front of your computer and write lame comments. Provide us with hardcore evidence......

I will never believe a word you have said because MCA itself doesn't have money!!

What a pitty you are not in the committee, probably you can bring in millions through corning people!!

If ACA doesn't find these people guilty, what would you do??

Shut up and play cricket mate! If you can't just shut up and watch.

Probably, the ex media manager can tell you a few tips..........

They will have no time for Malaysian Cricket.

Surprise that the former national captain (Mr Monk) is stll playing active cricket in the present league. He had an arguement with an umpire and this is the conversation:

Mr Monk: Umpire, if you can proof to me this certain law exist in the Laws of Cricket, I will give up playing cricket.

To this, the umpire replied:

"Give Up!. No! No!..Don't ever give up. You haven't even started playing yet!..hahahahaha.

the coach is the one that use the concept of 'pilih kasih'...
if he like that guy, that guy will confirm selected for the upcoming event...
this is not FAIR!!!!!
let the other to show off their talent n performance...
they deserve a chance...
its not all about players....

Dear Ghandi,

I would appreciate if you not carry stories on MCA webmaster anymore. He has resigned on 11th February 2009 and MCA issued a letter from than MCA Hon Secretary R. Suppiah accepting the resignation.

These people are getting back at him (personal) because some don't like his guts.

Thank You Mr Ghandi.

Folks,
I seem to have given a lot of leeway for comments under this article.
I think in the future i may have to reject those comments that do not fall within the guidelines and also has no relevance to the article.
Thank you.

The amount of comments posted in this blog whether relevant or not to the issue at hand pose a peculiar question on Malaysian cricket. There must be something seriously wrong with the administration or they(followers of this blog) are so fed up with the standard of the game so much so only criticisms, negatives and 'individual bashing' are posted. Comments on hockey articles can't even come close to cricket despite having more followers and comparatively (sic)ranked much higher internationally.
I am surprised with such a small population of cricket followers and the game actively played only in the Klang Valley, yet so many comments whenever an issue surfaced in this blog.
Maybe the moderator or anyone else would like to offer his 2 sens opinion?
